making IT work for tutors

I've started looking in earnest at some of the ways we do or don't use ICT in a college environment. So far I tackled a couple of big issues: how can we find out how confident staff are these days in using the skills required across a much broader range than before? And how do we make the job of producing good quality standard Schemes of Work and Lesson Plans much easier?
