Above are illustrated the basic 'fixes' available in Picasa. They are all really easy to use and whatever you do can always be undone if you don't like it. The cropping tool is great for focusing in on a particular part of an image or getting rid of frayed edges. By far the most frequently used, though, will be I'm Feeling Lucky. You will be pleasantly surprised at just how clever this software is!

You'll see the main publishing tools on the toolbar below your images. Use Web Album to create an album or gallery, or add pictures to an existing one.

When you use this for the first time it will ask you to create an account. After that you should find that it recognises you if you check the remember me box. Do make a note of your username and password, though.

The next publishing panel provides an opportunity for you to add some information about the pictures in general. Selecting Medium size will normally be more than adequate. You will need to make the gallery public so that others can see it!

The upload process is managed by Picasa, with thumbnails, links and things like best resolution for the web all taken care of. Uploading a lot of files may take a few minutes and you can see progress in this window, which will give you a View Online button when complete. Use this to check the results of you work. It is still possible to make changes on-line to captions, the order images are displayed and you can add or delete them too.
