Q-projects
I am currently finalising plans for small projects
at 9 FE Colleges across the Eastern Region for which the LSDA should provide
£1000 of funding each. These Q-projects are designed to help staff
develop their ILT skills through the creation of a learning resource utilising
e-learning. Although modest, they are regarded as ‘seedcorn’
from which it is hoped more widespread resources can grow. Each successfully
completed project will be featured at a major ILT Fair in the summer and
all 2004 Q-Projects will be included in a resource DVD available free
across the FE sector.
Our
Q-project is the creation of an on-line guide to the creation of a web
site suitable for use by inexperienced staff who wish to publish their
own learning materials.
Key
Skills resource
On 29 January Deirdre Kimbell, Executive Manager
of LSDA’s Key Skills Support Programme will launch a totally new
and eagerly-awaited set of comprehensive on-line materials developed with
a significant input from students. It’s free. You will want it.
Free
specialist training
Our JISC Regional Support Centre can provide a half-day
staff training session on a specialist topic. Suggestions for topics which
I can put to them which would be of value to sufficient numbers to make
it worthwhile please.
