Chrissie Yggmark ACFBA
I have been involved with dog ownership, care, handling
and training for most of my life. My full-time career with dogs
began eighteen years ago. Realising a need for specialist canine
advice led me to develop services in behaviour, training, care and
rehabilitation.
I opened the Hydrotherapy and Spa unit five years
ago to provide rehabilitation care for dogs after medical treatment
and for elderly dogs suffering loss of mobility.
Working as a dog trainer and behaviour practitioner
has equipped me over many years to understand the deep bond between
owners and their pets which provides a unique empathy and care for
both pets and their owners.
Handling many difficult dogs and in difficult situations
taught me a great deal about handling and training all breeds of
dog. I specialise in socialising dogs with aggression in London's
busy parks. My skills in rehabilitating dogs with behavioural problems
are as a result of hands-on work with dogs in real life busy city
environments.
I am an associate of the Canine
and Feline Behaviour Centre in Hertfordshire and the London
Dog Behaviour Company.
I realise the need for correct
training and socialisation throughout the critical periods of temperament
formation and I am heavily involved with puppy training courses
to ensure new owners are given all of the correct information to
prevent problems occurring later in the dog's life.
I work closely with many veterinary practices taking
referrals for hydrotherapy and training and behaviour consultations.
I am an Associate of the Canine
and Feline Behaviour Association of Great Britain and a Member
of the Canine Hydrotherapy Association and the Kennel Club Accreditation
Scheme for instructors in dog training and behaviour.
