Something that never ceases to amaze me is
just how much is out there, free and mostly ad free, by way
of applications that either work right here, in your browser,
or can be downloaded. And they're good, some a darn sight
better than something you have to pay for.

I put together the webtools site originally
with an e-learning colleague in order to provide some interesting
material for a workshop in 2006. It had a major update in
2007 and is now proving really popular, with its parallel
wiki for gathering comments on the tools featured.
You don't need to have a clue about e-learning,
ILT or teaching to get something out of a visit there. People
thank me for putting it together but really we should all
be thanking those people who continue to develop and let us
access and use all those applications.
